The RYA course I undertook with this company was a joke .. disparaging comments which left me personally shaken and upset by his scathing comments .. I would advice to use another company .. don't use this company at all!!

The instructors are terrible - they think they are world-class instructors, when in reality they are the worst company I have ever worked with. Iain has an aggressive attitude, perhaps this is why he was sacked by the police. I would never spend a penny on this company, and even if a course was offered to me for free... I would not take them up on it.

Shocking Customer Service

6 of us booked a long weekend with this company. Skipper / owner had absolutely no interest in our previous sailing ability, our requirements for the charter or even our names. A thoroughly self-opinionated and arrogant demenour. Kept best cabin to himself, and had his own heads while 6 of us shared one other. Unless you enjoy someone vacuuming under your feet during breakfast avoid this company!

Worst Sailing Charter Ever

We chartered a skippered yacht from Catima Sailing with an agreement to have up to 7 guests on board. To give ourselves plenty of space we decided to only go with 5 but when we turned up the owner had taken the biggest double cabin for himself despite our original agreement that he would take a single berth. For our crew changeover in Oban this meant one couple had to pay for a hotel. He refused to sail to Jura, Islay, Colonsay or Tobermory as he said they were too far for him. (Our crew consisted of a Yachmaster and two Coastal skippers plus a novice and we'd visited all of those in a club yacht before). He would constantly criticise the sailing ability of other boats but this was all thrown into perspective when he decided to demonstrate a 'crash tack' without warning in 25kt of wind whilst a crew member was making hot drinks down below... Avoid this joker.
